Academic Infrastructure
RMK Residential Senior Secondary School, established in 2007, situated at Kavaraipettai, Chennai and spread over an area of 46 acres is the fruit of the vision of Shri R S Munirathinam.
RMK Residential is a co-educational boarding school, affiliated to CBSE and has students of varying backgrounds from different parts of the sub-continent and aborad. It provides an environment that encourages a questioning mind and gives students many avenues for expressing their creativity and building their skills.
Classes are from V to XII.

Laboratories
Chemistry
We have spacious laboratories with all the modern facilities to encourage our young scientists to Observe, Experiment, Predict and Arrive at logical conclusions.
Physics
The laboratory activities in high school physics is an experience in itself. A starting place for the systematic development of students’ ideas, the physics lab acts as a creative center and testing ground for the curricula based experiments.
Biology
The expression “hands-on, minds-on” summarizes the philosophy we have incorporated in these labs. Students learn best if they are actively engaged and are able to link their experiments to understand important biological concepts.
Math Lab
The ‘MATH LAB’ provides wide variety of materials to play with and learn the concepts. The purpose for teaching math through the use of hands-on activities is because math is a life-long skill that must be internalized rather than learned through just memorizing.
Computer Lab
The computer lab in the premises is an state-of-art facility provided both for the staff and the students with 60 ultra modern computer systems with 24 hours internet facility and skype for the students to interact with their parents face to face and care has been taken to restrict the unwanted and unsocial sites but at the same time provide all the sites under the watchful care of the proficient computer experts.
Herbarium
RMKRSSS has dedicated one-of-its-kind Herbarium to its students’ community. Herbarium contains a collection of rare herbal plants which will help to understand the various types of herbal plants and knowledge on herbs gardening & maintaining it. Students are actively participating in planting and maintaining the Herbarium at the campus.
Library
Students are encouraged to cultivate good reading habits and use the library as an important centre for learning. Books and magazines from across the world adorn its shelves. Each child can chose its own corner and explore history, literature or science undisturbed. Personal supervision is extended to every child to improve his / her reading and speaking abilities.
Auditorium
Our school has a spacious airconditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 120 and highly advanced acoustics. “Seeing is believing”. This multimedia theatre provides a perfect backdrop for the child to not only read the curriculum but also see it come alive in this multimedia theatre. This ensures that any ambiguity in the mind of the child is resolved.
Communication Labs
French, English and Hindi are some of the languages that are taught with audio and dictaphone facilities in these language labs. This equips the child to build better interpersonal relationships and emerge a winner globally.
